On this seven-day trip we will sail far above the Arctic Circle, northwest of the city of Tromsø. Here lie the Lyngen Alps, Kvaløya and numerous smaller islands that are only accessible from the water. With the boat we are flexible and from the water we can reach the most beautiful remote places. After a strenuous tour day you can relax in the sauna, hot tub or on the large outside deck with an amazing view.

Ski touring from the Vulkana
With the luxury ship Vulkana as a floating mountain hut, we sail through the fjords around Tromsø. The Vulkana has served as a fishing vessel for almost fifty years and was converted into a ‘spa and adventure ship’ in 2007. It features a Finnish sauna, a Turkish Hammam, a saltwater hot tub and a seven meter high diving tower. The chef prepares fresh meals daily using local products. From the water we have the most beautiful climbs and descents for you to choose.

Program – 6 days touring in the fjords
Day 1 – Travel to Tromsø, Norway
We fly via Oslo to Tromso. We immediately board the Vulkana and meet the skipper and crew. We set sail immediately and in the evening the program for the coming days is discussed.
Day 2 to 7 – 6 days ski touring & splitboarding
We will spend 6 full days exploring the fjords and mountains surrounding the Lyngen Alps. This playground for skiers and snowboarders offers many possibilities and something for everyone. Beautiful scenic tours for novice and intermediate skiers and boarders and for the advanced and experts numerous steep descents and couloirs where you will be challenged both conditionally and technically. With two guides we can split into two groups so that everyone has a great experience at their own level.
Day 8 and 9 – Return journey
On this last day we say goodbye to skipper and crew. We stay another night in the harbor town of Tromsø and conclude with dinner and a drink. Sunday morning we fly back to Amsterdam. In the afternoon we are back in the Netherlands.

Ski to the Sea
All tours on this trip in Norway begin and end at sea level. The climbs are between 800 and 1,800 meters, after which a nice descent follows. We make one long or two short trips per day. The terrain is very varied; wide, narrow, flat and steep. We ski or snowboard in large walls and through couloirs. Snow conditions range from compact snow, buttery spring snow to fresh powder. The guides always try to find the best snow and slopes for you.
