Epique Dirt Festival

The Netherlands

At the beginning of October, the first Epique Dirt Festival takes place. For everyone who loves cycling, adventure, good food and fun! For three days we cycle on the most beautiful gravel paths and trails in Gelderland and Overijssel. This weekend is not about the best performance, but about the joint adventure. Both on Friday and Saturday we close with a good dinner and a beer by the campfire. We will spend the night at pop-up glamping ‘Bij de Buren’. A memorable gravel weekend is in the making, you want to be there!

The weekend in short;

  • 3 cycling days, every day a choice of 2 different routes
  • Overnight stay at the Regge on a luxury glamping field
  • Bike station for daily maintenance and cleaning
  • BBQ, campfire and a lot of fun
  • Goodie bag with sports bars for on the go, and more!

Spend the night at the Regge

We stay two nights at the pop-up glamping ‘Bij de Buren’, located on the river Regge. The glamping tents are equipped with beds and electricity. The cozy glamping field is the perfect base for a beautiful gravel ride over the Sallandse Heuvelrug on Saturday. A beautiful location for an adventurous weekend by bike.

Three varied cycling days

Day 1 – Towards the campsite

In the morning we gather at the parking lot on the edge of the Veluwe. Everyone is welcomed in the parking lot with a cup of coffee or tea and all luggage can be loaded onto the bus. The bus will take all your belongings to the glamping field, where we will stay for the next two nights. You choose the normal route or the longer route and cycle over great Gelderland and Overijssel gravel and trails. At the end of the afternoon we arrive at the glamping field, where we enjoy a drink, the BBQ and the campfire!

Day 2 – Up and down the Sallandse Heuvelrug

On Saturday morning we have breakfast as a group and get ready for the longest day. Today, routes of approximately 100 and 125 kilometers are planned. There are bars and gels on the way, but a stopover at a local tent is a must.

When we return to the glamping field, a delicious evening meal is prepared for us by the local pop-up restaurant. This dinner is at your own expense.

Day 3 – The last kilometers

We again have breakfast together and load the bus with our luggage. The last two unique routes bring us back to the parking lot of day 1. Today we drive again on unpaved roads. Upon arrival at the parking lot, we conclude together and this adventure comes to an end.

For every enthusiastic cyclist

Do you like cycling, adventure, fun and a lot of gravel? Then you’ve come to the right place at the Epique Dirt Festival. This weekend we celebrate ‘off-road’ driving and enjoy our shared passion. Every day there are two routes to choose from, a ‘normal’ and a ‘long’ route. You drive one of the routes independently in a small group using GPS. A weekend for the sporty cyclist.

Level of the festival

Every day there are two different routes you can choose from, a normal or a long ride. On Friday we immediately start with a beautiful route over approximately 80 or 100 kilometers respectively. Saturday is the big day. The long route will run over approximately 125 kilometers of gravel and trails, with some asphalt here and there. The normal route will be around 100 kilometers long. On Sunday we close with rides comparable in length to the first day.

The routes can be done with a mountain bike as well as with a gravel bike. We recommend gravel bikers to ride with a minimum tire width of 35mm (with good profile).

What is included?

  • 2 nights at the pop-up glamping ‘Bij de Buren’, including an extensive breakfast

Next year again!

It was the third time in a row that we went with Michiel and Gijs-Jan in November. This time for the first time to the Stubai Glacier (before this to Hintertux). This time not only training on and off the slopes, but also a nice tour to the Pfaffenkogel. Thanks guys, it was beautiful again!
